July’s Monthly “Netwalking” Session By The Future Economy Network
July’s sunny Netwalking session took place in Redland on Wednesday 31st July 2019. The lunchtime event was attended by 19 happy walkers in various industries from technology, travel, design, energy and much more.
Attendees were welcomed by the Director of The Future Economy Network, Katherine Piper outside of The Future Economy Group’s new sustainability hub, Future Leap. The circle took turns to tell the group briefly what their role is, so others could get an idea who they wished to network with. Katherine then spoke about our Festival of Sustainable Business and our upcoming weekly events programme, before one of the Network’s Events Officers, Louis Gray, led the group to Redland.
Whilst the group enjoyed their first Netwalking partner, Louis guided everyone to Cotham Gardens and Grove Park. Attendees were invited to swap partners on 3 occasions throughout the walk to ensure best use of this networking opportunity.
The session finished back outside Future Leap, where Katherine spoke about the benefits of subscribing to the network, and invited an optional tour of the hub. The group were shown around the building’s progressions to learn about how they could best utilise the space in the future, whilst others continued to make use of the valuable networking opportunities available.
