Nikki Jones’ Summer Series Part 4 - “Can Changes in Land Use Save Us From Climate Change?” co-hosted by The Future Economy Network and Metro Bank
On 15th August The Future Economy Network welcomed Nikki Jones back for the 4th in her series of talks on energy and climate change, this time the topic being focused on land use. The event took place at Metro Bank’s centrally located Bristol branch and kicked off with Director of Recruitment for The Future Economy Group discussing the benefits of subscription and updating attendees on Future Leap; the sustainable business hub and on the Festival of Sustainable Business.
Nikki then discussed, amongst other things, greenhouse gas statistics from agriculture and forestry, negative emissions technologies, soil development and the importance of its quality and carbon richness, palm oil, forests, monocultures and megafarms, how we ended up with typical farming, regenerative agriculture, permaculture, fungi, insects, bees, peat lands, and much more.
The event was concluded by some interesting discussions during the Q&A session, mainly focussing around food choices and health. We would like to thank Nikki Jones for speaking & our subscribers Metro Bank for providing the event space & refreshments.
