The Karshare community scheme was launched mid-March when the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lock-down began. By asking kind community members in Bristol to donate their unused car for a week (or more) to NHS Professionals, Care Workers, Charities and Food Banks, we have enabled front line workers to get to and from work safely, with minimal risk. All community donated vehicles are checked, cleaned and insured by our Assurance Partners for the donation period, and returned to their owners cleaned once more.
The scheme was fist launched in Bristol, and Adam Newman our Karshare Operations Manager, has shared his thoughts as to how this scheme has helped mobilise Key Workers in his home city and beyond.
