Blaise Nursery has secured funding from Bristol City Council to supply community growing groups with vegetable plants to support food growing in the city as part of the #BitesBackBetter campaign in Bristol.
The funding has allowed the nursery team to grow 10,000 food plants which will be ready for donation at the end of this month. The focus will be reaching community growing groups who are supporting those most negatively impacted by Covid-19. All they ask if that groups let them know where the produce will be shared (local community, foodbank, other project) and that you join the #BitesBackBetter campaign.
Any groups interested in receiving plants can get in touch with Ella at Bristol Parks.
Please send an email titled: Blaise Food Plant Donations 2021 to ella.hogg@bristol.gov.uk
Whilst they will do their best to reach all the groups who get in touch, they have a limited stock of plants and will give priority to groups as described above.
Groups need to get in touch by 20th March to give us time to organise the donations across the city. This donation scheme wouldn't have been possible without the determination of the Blaise Nursery team and the Sustainable City Fund at Bristol City Council.
All plants have been grown in peat-free, pesticide-free compost.
