Bristol Energy Cooperative is seeking a full-time Renewable Energy Project Developer
Salary: £30,000 + pension
Bristol Energy Cooperative is a community energy business with over £10m of renewable energy assets, a turnover of £1.2m, and a strong ethos of community engagement and local benefit distribution. Established in 2011, we are fully engaged in practical Climate Emergency work and are currently developing solar, hydro, battery and microgrid schemes at a range of scales. We aim to become a significant force in the local energy sector and are looking for a person with renewable energy project development experience to join the team.
We are seeking a person with at least two years’ experience of renewable energy development, preferably more, in at least one technology at project manager level. The successful applicant would be expected to manage projects from inception to commissioning including project finding, feasibility assessment, obtaining necessary consents and agreements, procurement and commissioning. There would also be some involvement in managing BEC’s existing portfolio.
The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as within the team. Experience of Planning and Grid application, land agreements, contracting, financial modelling, and procurement are all important, and good communication, organisation, presentation and spreadsheet skills are necessary. Experience of grant applications and grant management would be a bonus.
This post will run for an initial two years with the expectation of continuation beyond this. The job is office-based in Bristol and will involve meetings and site travel. Job share applications are welcome.
