Dear Readers,
I hope this update finds you and your loved ones well and feeling rested (and hopefully full of chocolate) following the Easter break! Here at the Future Economy Network, school holidays (when we don't run any events) are an opportunity for us to reflect on how we are doing and do a lot of back office planning work and this month has been no exception. We have reviewed our events offer and found that 90% of feedback responses in 2020 stated the events were “excellent” or “very good” and our virtual events are getting some great feedback too! Since the COVID lock down, FEN has organised three online networking events; Sustainable Tourism, Health and Wellbeing and a roundtable event on Economic Pluralism and Leadership. Feedback on our virtual networking has been extremely positive and we are excited to reach a wider audience and explore an international line up of speakers (more details to follow):
Thanks for a great event. Most comfortable networking experience I've ever experienced!
Please do come along to an upcoming event to see for yourself. Next week, we shall be hearing about Innovations Inspired by Nature and Investing in a Green Future and the following week, we will have our first online workshop on calculating your carbon footprint!
In not quite such positive news, we are sad that Future Leap; the sustainable business hub is currently closed but this has provided the team with an opportunity to get everything lined up for our hub launch; showcasing the retail space, eco-cafe, event space and co-working space at their absolute best. More details to follow! And we are continuing to plan for our Festival of Sustainable Business which is set to take place on 1st October 2020. Please do get in touch if you would like more details about either the Hub or the Festival.
And all of this planning is taking place whilst adjusting to remote working. I have to say that the team have been AMAZING during these challenging times and I feel so lucky to be a part of a team where I know we are all pulling in the same direction, working towards helping the business community achieve their sustainability aspirations. Huge thanks to the team for your amazing attitudes, your commitment to the Network and for always making me smile when we tell each other our daily gratitudes. My gratitude, as always is to be a part of such a great team!
The Future Economy Network's daily catch up where each member has the opportunity to share a moan, a gratitude, or both!
