In 2018 GENeco launched the UK’s first self-powered food waste collection vehicle – The Bio-Bee which services restaurants and café’s throughout Bristol such as Boston Tea Party, Pieminister and Krispy Kreme. Food waste is brought back to our award-winning anaerobic digestion facility where it is turned into renewable energy and clean fuel for homes, communities, and the Bio-Bee itself! Every bin produces enough to power the Bio-Bee for a return journey from Bristol to Bath and, given our fuel is much cleaner than petrol and diesel, we’re also helping to improve Bristol’s air quality.
GENeco is very excited to announce that our new, bigger and better Bio-Bees are on the road! The new vehicles can travel further and carry more weight, meaning more time spent on the road, helping our customers across our soon-to-be-expanding region.
We provide our customers with a cost effective, innovative, hassle-free, zero-waste to landfill service. Now we’ve tripled our capacity we are looking to help you make a difference and become more sustainable, whether you work in an office, café, kitchen or warehouse.
GENeco doesn’t just stop at the Bio-Bee, we provide sustainable solutions for all sorts of food, liquid and difficult to treat biodegradable waste at our anaerobic digestion and composting facility, turning it all into renewable energy, biomethane fuel and biofertilizer – nothing goes to waste! Visit https://www.geneco.uk.com/ to find out more. If you are interested in having your food waste picked up in our Bio-Bee or for any other waste enquiries, you can get in touch with our friendly team at info@geneco.uk.com or by calling 01225 524560.
The Bio-Bees provide a sustainable service to the community, bringing back waste and turning it into a resource to benefit local people which is why we are looking outwards to come up with a name and design for our new arrivals.
