Innovation Challenges - Call for Climate Resilience Solutions

Since COP26, climate resilience has shot up the agenda - we know that it’s not enough to just mitigate against climate change, we must also adapt to the impacts we are already locked into. The UK Green Building Council has therefore teamed up with Great Portland Estates, Hoare Lea, Liverpool City Council and Glasgow City Council to source and showcase solutions to two challenges focused on Nature-Based Solutions and climate resilience.

Solution providers that best address the challenges will be profiled through a UKGBC publication and have the opportunity to pitch at a live showcase event to an audience looking for solutions to these challenges. They will also be included in UKGBC’s Solutions Library, which they regularly feature in social media comms, courses and events, and in discussions with UKGBC's 600+ member organisations.

The challenges are:

1. How can communities and local authorities implement, maintain and assess the impact of nature-based solutions to enhance climate resilience?

2. How can existing buildings be made more resilient to climate change, with as little disruption to their occupants as possible, by 2030?
