Conversations in Nature. Ep 6: Julia - Retired Office Worker - Bedminster

Our final ‘Conversations in Nature’ session from phase 1 of the series is a cracker ✊🏻 Julia talks about growing up in nature, experiencing freedom and learning life skills outdoors (and pinching a few raspberries) 😉 Her childhood experiences helped shape her future and Julia’s life long passion for conserving the Northern Slopes.

The Northern Slopes Initiative (NSI) was formed many moons ago by local people who wanted to look after a fantastic local green space and resource. Julia says ‘We reuse everything and make new habitats, benches, dead hedging, piles of vegetation for bugs and beasts, recycle things like stone from a local builder’... She goes onto say ‘We feed the soil, feed the animals and the humans by closing the loop’... Every day South Bristol people of all ages like Julia and our other amazing speakers on this ‘Conversations in Nature’ series have shown how we can all make a difference to people, place and the planet.

Julia says ‘Being out in nature feeds the soul’. Well it feels like now is the time for us all to make a few compromises and repay the favour to Mother Earth 🌍🌱❤️ If the language you hear around Climate Change and the science of it all gives you a head ache and is tricky to understand - you are not on your own 👍🏻 Next we will help demystify the Climate Crisis process with a fun group activity called ‘Climate Collage’ and our local ‘Conversations in Nature’ legends will explain all in proper accessible lingo mind!!! Watch this space 👀 Phase 2 of our ‘Conversations in Nature’ is ready for lift off and it’s gonna blow your socks off 🧦 🚀🌱 innit 😜

If you think you could help fund phase 2, please get in touch 💰 A little will go a long way 😀 Change is coming folks and it’s gonna have to be from the grassroots and up if everyone is going to tune in and if we want it to be sustainable ✊🏻🙌🏽👏🏿🌱❤️
