The Marketing & Development Manager is a pivotal role to the commercial success of the core business and the new and exciting social franchise network for First Thermal Limited. You will be working with their existing multi award winning The Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts (C.H.E.E.S.E.) Bristol model, to replicate an improved C.H.E.E.S.E model UK-wide by social-franchising to expand the business portfolio.

This role will be for recruiting within both the climate network and the franchise industry to develop the brand in the marketplace, attending events, supporting existing and new franchisees to grow and develop. Building awareness of the First Thermal brand, its social and climate benefits, and what it offers.

FTL has been formed to replicate the Bristol-based multiple-award-winning C.H.E.E.S.E. Project CIC, (TCP) which delivers thermal imaging Energy Tracing® surveys to reduce energy loss from homes - thus making warmer homes and a cooler planet.

What can you do for them?

Your role will consist of a variation of responsibilities including the development of relationships and franchising, converting sales opportunities and working with current franchises to maximise their opportunities.

You will work on the day-to day-relationship-building to push the industry awareness of the network and maximise all opportunities with a strong focus on profitability without compromising the social aims of the business.

You will report activity and success to the senior management team weekly and be financially responsible for managing the relationship with franchisees.

You will create a culture of customer service according to the First Thermal standards, ensuring the best possible customer experience.

You will be responsible for delivering our aims of warmer homes and a cooler planet.

About you

So, you’ve read up to now, which means that you can do the job and you like the sound of the work environment but what kind of person do they need?

You will have proven marketing & development skills, preferably with a social enterprise but we are open to all backgrounds.

You will be self-motivated and have and ability to work using your own initiative, whilst showing empathy and the ability to understand and manage client needs.

You will have excellent verbal, numerical and written communication skills with ability to work with a range of stakeholders.

You will have knowledge and experience of using client focused databases.

You will be highly organised at managing time and workload, managing conflicting priorities and deadlines and have excellent report writing and analytical skills, including experience of writing effective non-technical summaries of complex issues.

You will have an interest in climate change and the built environment.

What is The CHEESE Project?

The Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts (C.H.E.E.S.E.) Project is a Bristol-based not-for-profit CIC that aims to reduce domestic energy losses, at low cost and are free to people in poor housing conditions and in fuel poverty. Their unique thermal-imaging surveys identify where homes are losing heat and they will suggest remedies. This gives the information people need to make low-cost impactful remedies to save money, improve comfort and wellbeing, and reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint
