Our last event of the year saw The Future Economy Network discuss their own carbon neutrality journey alongside their sister company, Future Leap. With a commitment made to be carbon neutral by 2020, the event aimed to showcase the company’s journey and learning for other businesses to take lessons and ideas from.
Katherine Piper, Director of The Future Economy Network, welcomed attendees after some networking, then ran through some key achievements and changes over the year in relation to the events, memberships and festival.
Fenna Leake, Manager at Future Leap, then gave the audience a virtual tour of the hub whilst fun quiz questions were asked of the audience throughout.
Then, Simon Forsyth, Carbon Consultant at Future Leap, ran through the carbon assessment of the two companies, using his own “Data Collator” carbon tool.
Finally, Molly Byrne, Programme Manager at The Converging World, discussed what the offsetting fees given would contribute to.
The audience were then invited to spend 15 minutes in break out groups to discuss what sustainability actions they could take into 2021, before a seasonal scavenger hunt took place to round off the event.
Everyone was then able to network in different groups using facilitated break out rooms, before the event finished. A huge thank you to the speakers and attendees of this event, without which our events calendar would not be possible.
