Frankly and Unearth Store partner up with Future Leap and The Future Economy Network to launch a pop-up in Bristol

The pop-up features a curated edit of ethical and sustainable fashion, jewellery, beauty and homeware brands.

The pop-up will open on the 1st of July, the date on which The Future Leap Sustainable Business Hub in Gloucester Road launches.

Frankly and Unearth Store, two new ethical and sustainable gifting and fashion online stores have partnered with Future Leap to open a temporary pop-up this summer. Both e-commerce platforms will showcase their ethical and sustainable products in this new £1.5m sustainability hub located on Gloucester Road, in the former Maplins building. The hub – the first of its kind in the UK – is home to The Future Economy Network, a sustainable business network that gives organisations the space, knowledge and tools to become more sustainable.

With this pop-up the online retailers aim to offer the people of Bristol a physical retail experience in a central venue that shares their values and mission. Frankly and Unearth Store share a less wasteful and more conscious approach to gifting and shopping. The two stores work with brands that have a story to tell and care about people and the environment. This means shoppers visiting the pop-up will find unique selection of handmade products by independent and ethical brands. More than 15 brands will be on display, including:

ARTHOUSE Unlimited - Their products are designed by a collective of artists living with complex epilepsy and learning disabilities. 100% of ARTHOUSE Unlimited's sales revenue sustains the enterprise, enabling it to expand and evolve.

S A Y A Designs - They create unique, handcrafted hair sticks, slides and forks from root wood salvaged from plantations in Indonesia. They take waste material and turn it into something meaningful. For each hairpin that is bought up to ten endangered tree species are planted in rainforests across Indonesia.

SOKO - Handmade and ethical jewellery. Soko employs technology to empower and provide equal access to opportunity for marginalised artisans in Kenya. Their revolutionary supply chain increases income 5x for marginalised artisans in the developing world.

Soruka’s - Handmade leather pieces that are crafted from waste leather that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. Indian artisans receive a fair wage.

Helen Symonds, founder of Frankly, said:

We're delighted to be part of the launch of The Future Leap Sustainable Business Hub. It is a fantastic venue where likeminded businesses and individuals can learn about sustainability practices and buy ethical and sustainable products. Both Frankly and Unearth Store are Bristol based online businesses so this partnership gives us a fantastic opportunity to showcase our ethical and sustainable products in a different way and offer the people of Bristol a physical retail experience.

The hub has been working really hard to launch on the 1st of July and offer a safe and relaxed shopping experience after lockdown. We hope passers by will be curious about the hub and will visit us. Bristol has been at the forefront of the ‘green’ movement so we hope there will be lots of interest.”

About Frankly - www.frankly.store

Frankly is an online store offering a less wasteful, more conscious approach to gifting. Working with brands that tell a story, and bringing this story to the forefront, means that every piece showcased at Frankly is not just a beautiful item to treasure, it is also a piece of the puzzle in creating a fairer world.

Frankly was created by Helen Symonds in 2019. After 16 years working in mainstream, international retail organisations, she decided to launch her own business with a model that was sustainable for people and the planet. She set up a marketplace with a fairer split of profits, a different way of thinking where the quality and the story of the product takes centre stage.

Brands featured on Frankly are selected because they have a shared vision. Brands create beautiful products that are ethical, sustainable and give back. From homewares, beauty products, fashion accessories to children’s books Frankly offers a wide range of quality gifts for everyone.
