Our Busiest Month Yet!....
In preparation for these newsletter summaries, I love looking back over my calendar to see all the events and networking opportunities that we have facilitated. Every month is always jam packed with great stuff but this month has to have been our busiest and I would like to take the opportunity to thank The Future Economy Network Team for pulling out all the stops. Here is what the team has been up to:
The Future Economy Network were represented at a stand at the very insightful Bristol-Sweden Future Cities Summit at City Hall
The events team held a “Sustainable Local Food” lunchtime seminar with subscribers Better Food, Fareshare South West and Good Sixty
We held our inaugural Festival of Sustainable Business which was a HUGE success with over 1500 attendees, 50 exhibitors, 60 expert seminar speakers and 220 gala dinner attendees
After a day to recuperate and another day to de-brief from the Festival, we were then out in force again at the Global Climate Strikes.
The following week, the team moved into Future Leap, our carbon neutral sustainability hub
And the same week, the events team held their monthly Netwalking event with many useful connections made.
It was then off to Weston-super-Mare for a Circular Economy business breakfast with presentations from Arbor Architects and Loop Innovations.
And back to Bristol a couple of days later for a morning event on Heat Recovery with representatives from Kensa, Ashfords and Thermal Energy.
With me heading off to attend the second Environmental Sustainability Board meeting that afternoon!
I cannot stress enough how grateful I am to the team who pull this all together with such enthusiasm and commitment, thank you Team FEN!
As the Future Economy Network continues to grow, a couple of team welcomes. This month, we welcomed Tatum to the team. Tatum impressed us so much in her volunteering role at the Festival of Sustainable Business that we offered her a role supporting the Network with events and subscriptions. We also welcomed Liga to the team, who is setting up our Eco-Café with support from Tom (another Festival volunteer who we didn’t want to lose!) Welcome all!
Finally, a thank you to all of you who are supporting our activities. We were so thrilled with the turn out at the Festival of Sustainable Business and have received such amazing feedback from attendees. This gives us the encouragement and motivation to keep on working hard to deliver exceptional sustainability events…. We look forward to seeing you at another of our upcoming events soon!
