News from the Future Economy Group
This month has seen further exciting developments for The Future Economy Group; the most exciting being the development of our Sustainability Hub within the old Maplins Building on Gloucester Road, Bristol. Walls are being knocked down, ceilings raised and interesting original features (including a hidden toilet block and parquet flooring!) are being uncovered. The Future Economy Group are proud to be adopting circular economy principles within the re-design of the building, with all materials being re-used or recycled!
To assist us in the development of our new carbon neutral sustainability hub, The Future Economy Group is excited to welcome Mike to the team. Michael Brain, Director of Operations will be overseeing the refit of the building, working closely with Tess who is heading up the showcasing of sustainable products and services. A massive welcome to the team Mike!
We are also really excited to announce the launch of the recruitment arm of the Future Economy Group and are welcoming Richard Murphy to the team as Director of Recruitment. Richard has a long history of working in recruitment, with his last role having been with Business in the Community. Richard is already busy making effective links and matching people with all-important sustainability skills to the right jobs. With our network of over 12,000, The Future Economy Group is perfectly placed to offer this service. Welcome to the team Richard!
And last but not least, things are progressing well with the preparations for our Festival of Sustainable Business taking place in Bristol on 17th September 2019. Next week sees the launch of our sponsorship package which contains details of the benefits of and costs associated with exhibiting and/or sponsoring the festival. If your business has been considering subscribing to the Network, now is the time to do it as there are substantial festival discounts for subscribers! There will be a projected 2000 attendees at the Festival so this is an event not to be missed if you are looking to market your sustainable product/service to a wide audience. Further details about the Festival can be found here.
Finally, we are thrilled with the recent feedback from attendees of our re-vamped events programme. We have moved from monthly to weekly events which is keeping us on our toes(!) and means that we have many more opportunities to facilitate those all-important networking opportunities.
