Following the COP26 agreement and the UK’s legally binding targets to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2050 (and in some cases by 2030) people would be forgiven for thinking that climate change was well under control.

However, the UK Green Building Council predicts that at least two homes have to be retrofitted with energy efficiency and renewable technologies every minute in order to meet these targets. There is a major shortfall in the pace of change needed and one way that the built environment can respond is by looking to offsite construction techniques to unlock the retrofit market.
