Insects as Food and Feed conference

  • Natural History Museum & Online London (map)

By 2050, the global population is projected to rise to over 9 billion, with a radical increase in the number of people living in urban areas.

According to the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), in order to feed this rapidly growing population, food production must increase by approximately 70 per cent. Armed with statistics and projections such as these, it is fundamental for food and agricultural industries to sit up and take notice; and work intelligently to deliver sustainable and sufficient food sources to feed the world's growing population.

At Michelmores, we consider this to be one of the most interesting and challenging industries and we are passionate about working with businesses developing and implementing innovative solutions.

We are therefore delighted to once again be supporting the Insects as Food and Feed Conference.

This annual event, hosted by the Royal Entomological Society will be held at the Natural History Museum, London, UK over 26 & 27 April, as well as online via zoom.

This year's keynote speaker will be Arnold van Huis, Emeritus professor, Laboratory of Entomology, Wageningen, The Netherlands. Arnold will talk about “Edible insects: progress and prospects”. Rachel O'Connor, Partner in the Agriculture team, will be providing an update on UK legislation for using insects as food.
